Damp materials that appear to be dry on the surface demonstrate a different surface temperature compared to nearby areas that are dry. Different surface temperatures are an indication of moisture inside the wall or floor.

Moisture Meters

Moisture meters are used to determine the level of moisture inside materials. For example, wood floors, while dry on the surface, may contain high moisture levels, which can cause cupping and splintering if the moisture is not removed.

Thermo-hygrometers

These devices measure the relative humidity and temperature of air masses inside rooms, basements, or commercial premises. Thermos-hygrometers are also used to verify humidity levels of air exhausted from dehumidifiers and HVAC systems.
